Why Seasonal Cleansing?

Personalized Cleanse Support with Mira Devi
Ayurvedic Therapies • Lymphatic Support • Restorative Care

Ayurveda teaches us to live in relationship with the rhythms of nature. As the seasons change, the qualities around us change as well—temperature, moisture, light, food, activity and daily routine all shift. Ayurveda understands these changes through the three doshas--Vata, Pitta and Kapha—and recognizes seasonal transitions as important times to restore balance and support the body’s natural ability to adapt.

Spring and fall, in particular, have traditionally been considered natural times for cleansing and renewal. Rather than thinking of cleansing simply as “detoxing,” Ayurveda takes a broader view: simplifying the diet, supporting digestion, allowing the body to rest, clearing what has accumulated and creating space for nourishment and rejuvenation.
And cleansing does not have to mean the same thing for everyone. There are many levels of intensity. For some, it may be a few days of simpler foods, more rest and gentle self-care. Others may choose a structured Ayurvedic program such as Dr. John Douillard’s LifeSpa Colorado Ayurvedic Cleanse, or a more intensive program such as the Kaya Kalpa Cleanse.

Traditional Panchakarma represents a deeper level of Ayurvedic cleansing and is undertaken under the guidance of a qualified clinical Ayurvedic practitioner.
For those interested in traditional Panchakarma, Mira can also connect you with several Clinical Ayurvedic Practitioners in the area who can provide the appropriate assessment, guidance and oversight for your program. Mira can then provide supportive Ayurvedic therapies to complement your practitioner-guided experience.

Mira Devi offers supportive hands-on therapies for people moving through many different kinds of cleansing programs. Depending upon the individual and the cleanse, sessions may include traditional Ayurvedic therapies, lymphatic support and deeply restorative care. These treatments are designed to complement the cleanse you have chosen while providing a place to slow down, receive and allow the process to unfold with greater ease.
Whether your cleanse is gentle and restorative or part of a more structured program, the intention is not simply to take things away. Cleansing can also be an opportunity to listen more closely to the body, simplify what has become excessive, and make room for deeper nourishment.

AYURVEDIC CLEANSE SUPPORT

For those participating in a structured Ayurvedic home cleanse, such as the Colorado Cleanse,  Mira can support your cleanse with hands on therapies, so that you  can complement your program with personalized Ayurvedic therapies with Mira at her private practice in Lafayette.

EXPERIENCE IN AYURVEDIC CLEANSING

Mira has many years of experience supporting clients through traditional Ayurvedic cleansing.
For approximately 15 years, she worked closely with Ayurvedic physician Dr. Nita Desai in Boulder and Louisville, providing hands-on therapies and supporting clients through traditional Panchakarma and Ayurvedic cleansing programs.
Through this work, Mira developed extensive experience with traditional Ayurvedic treatments and the supportive care that can accompany periods of cleansing and rejuvenation.

AYURVEDIC THERAPIES

Abhyanga
A traditional Ayurvedic full-body treatment using generous amounts of warm herbal oil. Rhythmic, flowing strokes create a deeply grounding and nourishing experience.
Shirodhara
A continuous stream of warm oil flows gently over the forehead, inviting the body and mind into a profoundly restful state.

Swedana
Traditional Ayurvedic steam therapy is often used following Abhyanga. The warmth encourages relaxation and gentle perspiration and beautifully complements warm oil treatments.
Marma Therapy
Gentle attention to traditional Ayurvedic marma points can be incorporated into treatments to encourage relaxation, awareness and a sense of integration.
Garshana
A traditional dry massage performed with raw silk gloves. Its rhythmic strokes stimulate the skin and circulation and can be used in preparation for warm oil therapies.

LYMPHATIC & RESTORATIVE SUPPORT

Alongside traditional Ayurvedic therapies, Mira may incorporate Lymphatic Enhancement Therapy and other restorative bodywork to complement your cleanse.
These gentle therapies support healthy lymphatic flow and circulation while encouraging nervous system regulation, deep rest and a greater sense of ease in the body.
